In the past two years, God has bless Kirkwood with many new visitors and believers, for which we all are extremely grateful. In order to see that continued growth in 2009, Kirkwood Church had a kick off of our “Gospel to a 1000” strategy starting this May 2009. Simply put, our goal is to reach a 1000 members of our local community with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will keep track of our progress throughout the year and everyone is encouraged to contribute to meeting this goal. We hope that every member will be involved in this project, from our evangelism teams at Hong Kong 4 Mall, our special holiday programs, mission trips, Trang Nien, Young Adult, youth programs and so on. Additional projects that we will try to start include door-to-door visitation, nursing home visits, free community health screenings, and international student ministry, etc. The possibilities are endless, and each ministry at KC is encouraged to plan their programs in such a way that it is geared towards this goal. We believe God will delight in our faithfulness in sharing the gospel to our neighbors, and that He will reward our faithfulness in sharing His love to others!!!
Above, members commit to share the Good News.
Gospel to 1000 Update KC members have planted a cumulative 800 Gospel seeds since 12/09. That means that we have shared the Good News to 800 people who may have not otherwise heard of the saving grace of God, some for the very first time. We believe that it is God’s truth that changes people’s lives and that God will continue to bless KC through our faithfulness in carrying out His Great Commission. If you have not participated, you are highly encourage you to take part in this project! |

Priority and Power of Prayer |
|
Kirkwood Church is making it a priority to pray! In addition to our Intercessory Ministry, Kirkwood also has prayer meetings every Tuesday night (held at the church). The Tuesday night Prayer meeting have been fruitful and more and more members are increasing participating. In the coming weeks, we will begin holding church group prayer night on the third Friday of every month. All regular activities on these Fridays will be suspended so that the church can get together and pray as a body of believers. We hope that this will encourage more KC members to participate in prayer for our church and that this will create a culture of reliance on God through unceasing prayer. In addition, prayer requests will be increasingly posted in our weekly Sunday Worship program as well as through our newsletter and website. The KC Leadership Board, which has been meeting every Sunday to pray, will also start notifying the church on a regular basis of any issues or plans it has so that the entire church can pray for these issues and plans as well as for God’s guidance. As Pastor Kim Ngoc commented, we need to “bathe” Kirkwood Church with prayer, because we believe that God delights in those who earnestly seek Him. |
