I started going to church since I was around the age of five. However, this did not mean that I came from a Christian background. My uncle-in-law was a Christian, and he was the one who brought me to church. I was the first one who ever went to in my family, and the first to accept Christ as my Lord and Savior. By the grace of God my parents and my four other siblings eventually became Christians as well. As a Christian in my teens, I was active in leading Bible studies, involved with follow-up, and other church ministries. I worked for a period of time as a chemical engineer after college. It was during this time that God called me to start taking classes at Southwestern Theological Seminary. After studying in the seminary for two semesters, I decided to study full-time and devote all of my time to serving the Lord. I gave up my career as a chemical engineer and started serving as an associate pastor at Vietnamese Baptist Church in Houston. When I finished seminary in 2005, the Lord called me to plant a new church in Houston area. I obeyed the Lord and started Agape Evangelical Church in February 2006. AEC and Grace Vietnamese Church merged in November of 2006 to become Kirkwood Church where I now serve as pastor. I am very priviledged and honored to be the Lord’s servant.
